le Zie

Translation: "the Aunts"

I have to make this quick, because tomorrow is a Dave Clemmons call so I have to wake up with the rest of us freaks at 5am and put my name on the unofficial audition list outside Ripley Greer Studios. More on those events later. I would like to welcome you to my newest venture, my semi-anonymous actor blog. I was encouraged by my roomate to start chronicalling these experiences. Yes the post below is over a month old, I wrote that to review my first full year here in New York and added it here to catch you up to pretty much where I am now. I sincerely invite you to make comments adding your own experiences because it is my hope that this can help us remember that we're not alone here. This really is tough.

Weird twists of fate do happen though... I am referring to the above Italian term "le Zie" i.e. "the Aunts", also a Venetian Trattoria in Chelsea. I recieved a call from them this evening inquiring if I had left a picture and biography (headshot and resume) there this evening? Now, I ate dinner at home tonight so no it was not me, but that means someone was checking me out over pasta this evening. This is exciting except that they no longer have my headshot/resume/contact info, so we'll see how this could possibly evolve, but I am feeling helplessly optomistic that maybe someone in this town is interested in me. The gentlemen from the restaurant said he would keep it there incase someone comes back for it. Funny... I could say something cynical right now, but I just finished "The Secret" so I will this positively instead. As will I try to tomorrow as I spend the day in the world of open calls... I also start a class tomorrow which I will also soon tell you about. But for now you'll have to wait, I need to sleep now for energy tomorrow.

Break a leg!!!

Love,
Heather
